Qatar plans to invest 10 billion in French companies

Ambassador of Qatar to France, Mohamed Al-Kuwari Jaham, announced Tuesday, 6 November that Qatar is considering investing $ 10 billion in major French companies to diversify its revenue now highly dependent on hydrocarbons. "The 10 billion euros will be funds from Qatar to take shares in major French groups, or set up projects to partnerships in other countries," he said. "It is not finalized, it is an idea that is studying," he said.

FUND FRANCO-QATARI 300 MILLION FOR SMEs

The ambassador added that agreement must be signed by the end of 2012 on the creation of a Franco-Qatari fund for SMEs French, whose total could reach 300 million euros. The fund, originally announced as a Qatari fund for the suburbs of € 50 million, will eventually echoed by half the small emirate "to the tune of 100-150 million euros" and the other half by the Fund deposits (CDC) and possibly private partners, said the ambassador.
